Joseph Group is one of the largest sign manufacturers and large format printers in the region. They have now added the new HP Latex 800W to their printer range to enable them to offer their clients the options of large format printing with white printing capabilities and easy lamination on the go for outdoor signs.
As Head of Operations at Joseph Graphics, Mudassir clarified the company’s decision. “We have a 10-year-old second generation HP Latex 265 that has been our workhorse these past years and we were looking for a substitute for this machine since it will soon be outdated in terms of availability of service and spare parts. Our new machine would not only need to do what the HP Latex 265 did but needed to do it faster and more efficiently as well as allow us to explore new markets and signage capabilities. This new 800W does that.”
Joseph Graphics explored several brands including the HP 570 and the 800W. The fourth generation HP Latex 800W won because of its clear capabilities. While the 800W is still relatively new, the company found that compared to the 265, the new machine can produce 25-28 sqm per hour compared to the 12-15 sqm they were getting, doubling its output capabilities.
“The capabilities of the new machine allows us to use the same machine for both normal large format printing as well as use it for white printing, transparent printing and providing an overcoat when we need it for outdoor signage,” added Mudassir. For Mudassir, the option of not needing to remove the white head while it’s not in use is a great advantage in the new HP Latex 800W because it saves the team time from having to “flush” the white print head every time the printer is used.
In addition to the new 800W, Joseph Graphics also has a 3rd generation HP Latex 570 and an HP Latex 1500 machine in their factory in addition to their existing HP UV flatbed printers, FB750 UV and FB700.
